Our story

Rahman Wholesale was established on June 8, 1993, by Mushtaq Hussain Diwan Ali. Our journey began with a small shop located at Zwevegemsestraat 35, 8500 Kortrijk. From the very beginning, we were committed to providing our customers with high-quality products and exceptional service.

Growth and Relocation

In 1997, as our customer base grew, we made the decision to relocate to a larger space at Zwevegemsestraat 48. This move allowed us to enhance our offerings and better serve our community. We still operate from this location today, continuing to rent the building. During this time, our business model evolved from a sole proprietorship to a limited liability company (bvba), reflecting our dedication to professionalism and growth.

Later that same year, we opened a night shop next to our daytime store to accommodate our customers’ diverse needs. After approximately a year, we moved the night shop to a new location at Zwevegemsestraat 33, further expanding our reach and convenience.

Expanding Our Product Range

In 2004, we made a significant shift in our business model by focusing on wholesale goods. Rahman Wholesale began specializing in the import of fresh fruits and vegetables from Uganda, Togo and other areas in Africa. This venture allowed us to offer a unique selection of high-quality produce to our clients.

By 2009, recognizing the growing demand for diverse culinary options, we expanded our product range to include Indian and Pakistani spices, as well as exotic foods from various regions. This expansion not only enriched our inventory but also allowed us to cater to the multicultural tastes of our community.
